What makes Mafia Wars fun is in part having all those fun sounding criminal accoutrements.  One of the most fun – Mafia Wars bodyguards!  Sure, they are decent defensive equipment (DEF 25), but bodyguards are not the best defense available.  What’s the lure of bodyguards?

Mob lifestyle appeal aside, if you are getting smoked on the fightlist a bodyguard can change that for you in a snap.  Beginners getting targeted by established gamers is de facto part of the game, so it’s no surprise that finding defense like Mafia Wars bodyguards is at the head of a new player’s list of needs.

Searching for Mafia Wars bodyguards?  They are found in the loot drops of Hitman Tier – Protect Your City from a Rival Family job.  It’s actually awesome how early you can get yourself set up with bodyguards – as early as level 18.  (If you’re over level thirty-five, the Guerilla Squad (DEF 30!) is even better defense – find them in loot drops in the El Padrino tier in Cuba – Storm the Presidential Palace job.)

The job that earns you Mafia Wars bodyguards is actually pretty experience/energy smart, as well.  You sacrifice 31 energy and get 58 experience in that job.  That’s a respectable job for speedy leveling with a 1.87 ratio.  Newbies would be wise to invest in that job because the loot is great defensive equipment and the experience yield is very good.  If you are attacked by a roughly comparable player, you will win fights due to bodyguards.  I advise you to get bodyguards for as many members of your mafia family as you can.

But here’s my larger concern: Are you getting whipped?  If your attacker has you outmanned, outgunned, and outclassed, bodyguards won’t stop your losses – although they will increase your percentage of wins!  Not fun and bodyguards may not be enough to prevent the abuse.

Better get some stronger Mafia Wars fighting strategy.

Are your personal stats unbalanced?
Do you have a small mafia family?
Have you neglected mafia equipment?

If your fight strategy is limping, you’ll have to change that if you want to stop the hazing.  When you’ve acquired a Mafia Wars tormentor, you won’t be able to always allocate all your skill points to energy; you’ll want to invest some into defense.  And a teensy mafia family is a bulls-eye painted on your back – you’ll be outmanned every time!  You’ll need to build some crew size.  And you’ll need to arm that mafia family the best way you can afford – every one requires a weapon, armor, and vehicle.  If you just want to discourage your tormentor, you can focus on finding the best defense equipment – like bodyguards!

Get Mafia Wars fight tough and get those bodyguards, too.
