I am talking from experience and know what you need to do to get video game testing jobs.

First off you should know you can make a decent living from game testing – anywhere from $30 to $100 per hour.The only qualification you need is an addiction and love for gaming – which I know you have. So lets not waste your time…

Step 1  – Understand That Game Testing Is A Job Not A Hobby

We are now coming into the summer season and that is absolute go-time for testers – as they all want to iron out there bugs in time for Christmas releases. So go absolutely nuts and apply for every job out there!

You are going to have to apply for as many jobs as are available – this will guarantee you at least get a few to start with. Another thing you should understand about the gaming industry is experience matters. Show them your knowledge of gaming and that you are someone who is technical and can problem-solve. These are the main things game tester companies will look for.

Step 4 – Meet Deadlines & Provide Feedback

Once you get a job you wont have to show up for waork at 9am! You just need to make sure you always deliver on your given deadlines. Gaming companies are looking for reliable people – and lets face it most gamers are far from this! So show that you are reliable and the offers will follow!

A further point I want to make sure you understand is the importance of providing in-depth feedback. You providing feedback on bugs and possible issues is your main role in your job. If you realise that the system reboots every time you crash into the wall on turn 6 – say exactly that! Being thorough  in your feedback will make sure that you get more of the game tester job
