Introduction to Cooking

Learning to Cook in WoW is a really useful skill and compliments several other professions like Fishing. You can actually earn a reasonable amount of gold with your cooking skill and you don’t have to put in a lot of effort, making it fun for players to give it a try.

Originally most players didn’t give it a second glance but with Burning crusade and WotLK its a profession that has taken on new possibilities. Some players actually need some of the things you make and you get cash in return. Click here to read more on WoW Cooking Leveling Guide

Lets get Started

When you have started you will need a fire which needs some flints, tinder and wood. Open up your Spell book and look inside the cook book to find which recipes you would like to try. Please keep in mind that your fire will only last for a few minutes only start a fire when you are actually ready to start cooking.

Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you may need to spend a little to make a little at first. But when you have achieved more quests you will have the items needed for the recipies. Making Gold by Cooking
Although cooking appears a generally useless skill, it’s what you cook that makes a difference. Focus on the ingredients that carry buff points as once you have mastered the skill you can start making these items and then selling them in the auction house . Warp Burgers are also very expensive and sell for about 1 gold piece each. You can easily make 50 gold ph with this tip.

It’s a good idea to monitor the seasons in the game. During Christmas, there are quests that will require players to have Egg Nog at least one gold piece each and if players are desperate, you can easily make more money. Click here to read more on Cooking Leveling Guide

Moving Up the Levels

Here’s a quick and easy way to progress in skill from 1 to 375. Star off in Ironforge. Purchase one flour and one mild spices to make your first recipe of Spiced Bread. This will get you to 40. Then acquire 30 mild spices and some wood for the fire. Then get to Auberdine and find a Moonkin. Kill until you have a couple of dozen eggs to get you to level 60.

Then head south to Ashenvale and collect clams dropped by crawlers. Cook these back at Ironforge and sell them. Then cook the clams with the help of a cooking trainer. This will take your skill level up to around 125. All you need to do now is get the expert cookbook to be on your way to 375.

Daily Cooking Quests

These are newer quests that were introduced recently into the game. But you’ll need to have a cooking skill of at least 275 to take part in most of them. The good bit though is that the payback is high. To learn more click here: World of Warcraft Cooking Guide
